Water glue (cold glue) uses starch- or dextrin-based adhesive applied at room temperature. It is the traditional choice for paper-to-paper labeling, especially on absorbent paper stocks, and is favored for food-grade snack cans. Hot glue uses EVA-based hot melt adhesive applied at 140–160 °C. It bonds faster, suits high-speed lines (up to 35 pcs/min on the SM600-HL), and works on coated, foil-laminated, or non-absorbent label stocks.
