Integrated Functions

This machine combines four processes into one unit: automatic flaring, outer crimping, inner wall brush cleaning, and automatic sealing. Equipped with servo-controlled stepping motors for high-speed can feeding, it replaces at least three standalone machines typically required in potato chip can production lines. This not only significantly reduces conveyors and floor space but, more importantly, minimizes labor requirements. The equipment operates with high stability and reliability, featuring simple setup procedures.

Flexible Operation

Each function can be independently enabled/disabled via touchscreen controls, allowing versatile combinations. The machine can instantly transform into: a standalone flaring and capping machine, a standalone outer crimping machine, an inner crimping or inner crimping/sealing machine (after die replacement).

Rapid Tooling Change

Mold replacement is exceptionally efficient.

Working principle

How the SM500-S runs.

Cut and labeled can bodies feed into the SM500-S on a synchronized infeed conveyor. The first station flares the rim, the second station outer-crimps the lid into position, the inner-wall brush cleans the seam area as it indexes past, and the final station auto-seals the canister. Servo stepping motors handle the high-speed can feeding that keeps the four stations in lock-step across the full cycle.

Operators configure the cycle from a single touchscreen, enabling or disabling each function to match what the SKU and can size require. Recipe-driven settings cover rim flare depth, crimp pressure, brush dwell time, and seal dwell. The same line that runs integrated during regular production can be reconfigured in minutes to run as a standalone station during product changeovers or capacity tests.
